Changing the Symbol

The Symbol is the ticker of the stock which you wish to see the chart for. You may edit it in the gadget settings as shown below:

Symbols may be found by using the Symbol Lookup feature at yahoo finance.

Some useful symbols include:

SymbolMeaning
^ftseFTSE 100 index
^ftmcFTSE 200 index
^ftasFTSE AllShare index
^djiDow Jones index
^ixicNASDAQ composite

Alternatively, company tickers can used, for example Google is "GOOG".

When done, click Save to keep the new settings, or Cancel to revert to the previous settings.

NB: If you find that the message chart unavailable shows, you may need to change the region, as the symbol you have chosen may not be available for that region. Try setting the region to US or UK.
